An average 3-bedroom home produces around 5.6 tonnes of CO2 per year from everyday things like heating, lighting and appliances.
But it’s not hard to cut that figure dramatically by something as simple as turning off lights or the television when you leave a room. Something like insulating your loft takes more time and thought but could save just under half a tonne of CO2 a year.
